Loosely backed bacon and bread from Baker Cheese Street became Barbra’s obsession.
She burst the cinnamon bubble gum into laughter.
The butler was gone.
The barber was watching the scene from behind the window.
What a view.
Verse and vice-versa.
The empty vodka bottle flew from nowhere.
The barber hid himself behind the counter.
That was close.
The glass was everywhere.
The bookworm from the bookstore across the street was biting on the Bible, chewing.
It was full of Times New Roman tasty text.
Who cares about the bacon, bread, butter or even carrots!
The barber did – till that Bang.
Oh yes, the belly-boy, the lift-boy and the tea-boy became backer, barber and the bookseller.
That was after the War.
But wasn’t it for the book-keeper…
